The Wedding Present are halfway through their 2008 tour of North America. The band's rocking new live set has been well received everywhere and a gang of Hollywood celebrities attended the Los Angeles show. Actors Keanu Reeves and Dawson's Creek's Joshua Jackson joined Joe Matt [one of David Gedge's favourite comic book writers] and Jeff Spear [writer for Jay Leno] in the audience.
The band also recorded a session for Seattle radio station KEXP while they were in the Pacific Northwest.

THE HIGH LIFE : THE WEDDING PRESENT COVER THE CURE
The Wedding Present have recorded a version of 'High' for 'Just Like Heaven', a compilation of bands covering songs by The Cure. The 16 track CD, which will be released by American Laundromat Records on 27 January 2009, also features Tanya Donelly, Black Francis from The Pixies and Dean & Britta from Luna. American Laundromat is now accepting pre-orders exclusively from their web site (www.alr-music.com) at a special price with a November shipping date for pre-ordering customers only. The pre-order CD will also feature a bonus hidden track and the chance to win an autographed copy by a band of the winner's choice.
